Linda enjoys optics and thought it would be a good way to learn about something she has worn since she was 14 years old. Linda worked for Pearle Vision for 8 years and has been at Eye Designs for the last 18 years! She enjoys working with the Eye Designs team and meeting and helping our customers! She has her ABO certification and enjoys attending continuing education and socializing with local opticians.
Fun Fact: Linda moved 13 times in her childhood, even moving her senior year of high school.
Maureen originally started as a medical assistant with Des Moines Eye Surgeons. After cross training in the optical shop, Maureen joined Eye Designs in 2011 and soon after became recognized as a Certified Optician by the American Board of Opticianry . Maureen enjoys giving great customer service by helping the patient find the perfect frame with the latest lens technology!
Fun Fact: Maureen is an avid Hawkeye fan even though she received her degree from Iowa State.
Cory has been in optical since 1989 and has worked in a variety of retail and lab settings.Now as progressive lens wearer and dispenser, he learns more about corrective lenses every day.
Fun Fact: Cory brings a vintage Star Wars lunchbox to work everyday. He is also a "diehard vikings fan", certainly nobody would photoshop anything else....
Nicole has worked in a variety of retail settings in several states. She is so much fun to work with and truly wants all of her customers to find that perfect frame.
Fun Fact: Nicole is a fan of basketball and loves to dance!
Master Contact Lens Technician
NCLE-M, FCLSA, NCLE-AC, CLSA FELLOW
Sherrie started in the optical industry in 2001 as an optician at Mauer Eye Center & Medical Spa in Waterloo, Iowa. In 2002, Sherrie accomplished both NCLE & ABOC certifications. She found her passion was fitting contact lenses and became NCLE-AC (advanced certified) in 2006. Sherrie served as Manager of the Mauer Eye Center Contact Lens Department for 7 years.
Sherrie accomplished Fellow status with the Contact Lens Society of American in 2012 and achieved NCLE Master in 2015. Sherrie has lectured at the annual CLSA educational meetings as well as being published in the EyeWitness magazine.
In 2016 Sherrie was elected to a three year term on the Contacts Lens Society of America Board.
Sherrie is in her 10th year as the Director of the Contact Lens Department at Eye Designs.
The department specializes in irregular corneas and presbyopic fittings. Sherrie is a graduate of Iowa State University.
Contact Lens Specialist, ABOC
Amalia joined us in the Contact Lens Department in August of 2021. Her interest in optics began at a local office where she worked as an optician. She began studying the basics of optics and since then has taken specific interest in studying contact lens technology and fitting techniques.
She is currently studying for the NCLE exam to be certified in contact lens examinations. She enjoys assisting Sherrie with fittings and learning everything she can from each patient and their unique visual needs. Amalia thoroughly enjoys getting to know each patient and how contact lenses can improve their lifestyle.
